Big Power/Boost Thread! Turbos, Wastegates, Fuel systems.
I was talking to a guy at T1 in Texas today to get some ideas on my fuel system for the hp range im looking for which is 750whp or so give or take.

I want to discuss some different types of fuel system setups.

I originally had it planed to sump the tank and run a gravity fed Aeromotive A1000 pump with -8 AN lines to the rail and a -6 return back to the tank.

After spending some time on the phone with a company very experienced in this stuff and explaining my car, situation and power goals he gave me the advice to just run a Walbro 255 in tank, feeding a Bosch 044 and definetly put a relay in to direct power both pumps to see the best results.

He mentioned this setup should be good to well over my goals and have seen some hondas do in the 900 territory on this setup using C16 race fuel. He mentioned alot of people overspend on their fuel system as well. He said there is no reason why i cant use the stock fuel feed hardlines as well to go from the Bosch pump to the rail but im gonna do the -6 an line to the rail. He said that is plenty.

So throw out some different ideas/pics/setups to add.

Another thing is injectors. He said i could go with the ID1000's but run a very high fuel pressure but it would be pushing the injector quite far. The better option is the new Id2000's which actully flow 2200cc at 3 bar fuel pressure. I could run those and have a very low duty cycle and be just fine for the power im looking for. Problem is they are darn expensive at $230/injector so little over $900 for the set.

So throw out some other options for injectors. BTW i would like to keep a high impedance injector as well so no messing with resistors or driver boxes.

Lastly is wastegates. From what he said you want to run as small of a wastegate as you can that will keep boost creep away. He also recommended to me the PTE 46mm gate as was offered to me by boostin50 on here. He said with the open housing t4 im gonna run it should be fine as long as you position the gate flange transition correctly for best flow.

All in all i think the Precision 67 billet turbo w/.94 turbine housing will get me where i want to be easily with a hell of a power band.

Keep in mind this is going on a VE-T. Gonna push the stock sleeves and Eagle rods as far as they will go and who knows maybe they will prove themselves to hold even that amount of power. I will definetly find out.

Oh and one more thing is ignition setup. I will be using an AEM unit so COP is a definete. What coils should i use that can easily support that power without having to go down to a rediculous low gap on the plugs. Ive heard the pencil coils off a 1000cc bike will work. Any recommendations?

I was also thinking of doing a 4 LS1 coil setup with some good wires as i can get those coils with the harness very cheap. What do you guys recommend. I know alot of this info and setup advice is gonna come from people with honda backgrounds or around big hp hondas alot but hey. Learn from the best. The SR's will make their name again soon thanks to some awesome companies stepping up.

Feel free to post some pics and setup advices all you want.

can you just put together the car so we can stop hearing about it

Sounds like you got a plan i think you should run with it and see where you end up and go from there.

i wasnt trying to talk about it. I was trying to talk about different setups, ideas, for different goals in mind. Again like injectors. I really dont feel like spending 900.00 on injectors when i can spend 400-500 and work just fine and have plenty of fuel for the power.

Eagle rods should be fine, the fuel set up is up to you i dont know if i would go quite as large as 2200cc though. The twin pump set up you are mentioning should work fine. My friend tim has the same set up on his eclipse which is making well over 700awhp, he is also running eagle rods on a 2.3 stroker engine which is revved to around 8.5-9k. The rods and engine have seen 3-4 years of use with no issues, and quite a few low 10 sec passes. He has run a max boost of 53psi on his turbo set up with no rod breakage. I know its a dsm but alot of the components and the hp you are after is similar to what he was running. It seems the only reason to go to the extreme with fuel set ups is if you are gonna run e86 or whatever . He was only used vp import or c16.

Thanks for the input. Yeah im thinking thats what im gonna do as far as fuel goes.

The id2000's idle soo well for being soo big when tune right. I was watching some vids on it yesterday and im amazed. There is a vid of T1 throwing them on a stock motor integra ls and the idle was stock sounding. After tuning they made 6whp more than stock just tuning it. Amazed at how well they perform. They are good from 3 bar to 10bar base pressure. At 10 bar they flow 4800cc's if i remember correctly.

But Im thinking i will need at least 1600cc worth of injector to be safe. Again any ideas on some other brand of injectors that are proven to work well?

hype or no hype id1000s are the best on the market as of right now. They also have a competitor by the name of efi wizard or something of the sort
.

The benefits of these injectors are that they come complete with data sheet gives you the exact lag time/latency/offset for each injector. They are precisely flowed to be as close to one another as possible. They are modified saturated bosch ev14 injectors that flow 1000cc with the test fluid gasoline and are capable to run very high pressures without going static. These id1000 injectors at 100psi BASE pressure will flow similar as a 150lb injector idle better and drive smoother and would be easier to tune because u know the exact offset for the injectors.

with all that being said and the fact that i think your going to run gasoline and not ethanol i think you would be fine running id1000s a good pressure regulator, bosch044 along with a walbro inline to boost the pressure.

if you were to run ethanol you would run 2 044 in parallel
