yeah but i do plan to go over 500 wtq and around 700whp as well so yeah definetly need it. haha

thats why i bought it. Overkill on the clutch so i dont have to worry about slipping or anything else.

Here are some pics of the input shaft. You can see where it shined it up in two spots where the disk were but there is definetly no wear on the shaft. I can run my finger and nail over it and its smooth and even, No dips or divots where the disk were. So yeah definetly clutch failure. Not related anything to the input shaft. Again its a practicly new gearset with bearings.

I never said the shaft causes this in the first place... my point was that I noticed mine was worn and that could make it more likely to happen a second time. Just a theory. Like I said this shouldn't happen in the first place, but it does and does often so it would be nice to know wtf causes this bs

Whether you bought the product direct, or through a vendor, or another person, it was new. that is BS.

I'm not questioning your work Ashton. I just know one of the guys at ACT tech when I was talking to them was putting the blame on my input shaft. He said even the slightest movement or some crap would cause this to happen. Its been a while since that happend but figured i'd chime in. In my case, it was the input shaft. If yours seems solid and everything is fresh/proper, I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to help you out and replace it. Keep us posted.

yeah, understood, just figured i would double check it but yeah its smooth as hell so i know the shaft 100% is not the cause. haha. Either bad material on the splines on the disks or poor fitment of it onto the input shaft. Which is something that i didnt check to begin with but again for a 1400 new clutch you shouldnt have to worry about stuff like that. It should be throw it in and go for a long long time of hard abuse.

nah not taken that way man, haha. All good. Again everything is fresh and good and solid. No reason for it to happen. Period.

The same is said for when you buy rods that are said to be in perfect condition....

I will still stand behind my Clutch masters twin disk setup.
Two years later & no problems at all.30psi runs too.

Like you said already you did not really check the play between the shaft and the disk hub when you installed it. I would think there was some play between those pieces for this to happen. The company is going to blame it on your input shaft. What gearset is the input shaft from and what transmission are you using? Are all of the SR20 transmission input shafts exactly the same??? There might be a slight dimensional difference from say a sentra to a G20 etc. or different ways in which the input shafts were manufactured. This would allow some input shafts to be more desireable, with deeper grooves or more square machining on the splines because of a later more highly developed machining process. I don't know just putting it out there.

Also I am just trying to play devil's advocate here but let's take a step back and look at the big picture. Am I out of line stating that any clutch hub is going to have a hard time tranmitting 500 horsepower to an SR20 transmission input shaft? It seems like an issue of simple mechanics, it's just not that big. The shaft is what....about 7/8" inch in diameter, maybe less. I believe the input shaft on my old toyota 4runner is about 1-1/8"...and it has about 100 horsepower. The machining/tolerance of the clutch hub to the input shaft better be right on to handle 500 horsepower.

I say this often: It's not HP that breaks things, it's WTQ. Your 4Runner may only make 150hp, but it still makes more torque.
