maf in pressure??
I have seen lot's of photos from sr20det engine bays, and i notice that in big turbo-projects the maf is before the throtlle!
My question is ,why the maf is in pressure, does it works fine, and what about mafs life?

What do U suggest maf before throtlle, or maf before turbo inlet?

search for blow through and draw through you'll find everything you're looking for.

We do it based on our setup, and personal preference. MAF sensors weren't really designed to be under pressure, but for the most part we experience no ill effects. Too much boost though, and you could pop the top

One of the best reasons to run a blow thru MAF, IMO, is the fact that if you blow couplers, chances are you can still drive the car just fine N/A since the MAF would likely still be connected before the throttle body. Most blow a coupler on their compressor outlet or on the intercooler.

Hotshot pipe ftw! That is if you have a little girlie turbo like I do.:o

blow through with maf
i running the blow through system on my sr20de-t and it going fine. i had the maf infront the turbo before but now it more responsive. blow through is the way 2 go.

also i pop of the cap of the maf so i just seal it over and but a clamp on it to hold it.

Thanks a lot guys

Im asking cause i have sr20det with sc61 turbo and i'm running it 16psi with the maf in front off compressors inlet, you teling me that if i put the maf blow through with the same psi that i'm running now the mafs life will be the same?

i tried it with my new top mount and on 14 psi i pop the hell out of my maff at 310 hp so now its before the turbo and runnin like a champion

I've found that putting the maf under blow through causes it to max out faster, so if you are really going for a ton of power you may want to log the maf reading to make sure you aren't getting over 5V.

I'm running 26psi now on blow thru and it works fine. But the maf is way maxxed out.

I've got a bored SR20DE MAF in blowthrough at 10psi and it's maxxed out...

Also, I've noticed that if you pop any coupler near the MAF, the car will run like crap because the turbo will be blowing all sorts of turbulent air into the MAF causing it to get wonky readings.

I'm going back to drawthrough and running a bead on all my pipe ends to have a lip so that the damn couplers won't blow off. (I've blown off the MAF adapter ones even with t-bolt clamps).

The bad thing is that I have to recirc the BOV, but the good thing is the MAF is before the PCV system so it gets dirty less.
