turbo + cam question
I did some searching about cams and didn't find the answer I was looking for. I have a 96 SE-R and at some point will be adding a bluebird turbo or the like. I am swapping the engine now for a lower mileage one and had contemplated putting a highport cam in it during the swap for a little more pep until the turbo. Is this cam worth using with a stock nissan turbo setup? Thanks.

Sure it is. Highport cams are proven to free up HP that you lose with the stupid mild lowport cam grind for emissions. I think most report around 10~12hp difference just by swapping in the highport intake cam.

You loose some low end torque, but gain a lot more HP. I believe it's 8whp NA, might be more boosted.

Now the best part about the cam, besides the power gain, is the fact that you will be able to rev to 7500 rpm day and night. Stock low port cam is way too weak thus you loose a lot of power in the higher RPM's.

I did the exact same thing. Yes, I think the cam is worth it.

^x2 totally worth it. When I was n/a, that cam with a jwt ecu was enough to beat gsr integras. Now that I'm boosted, I think it is even better than it was before. My car is pretty fast for a little t25 on the stock wategate. DO IT!!!
