J-Pipe to Turbo Studs + Oil Drain
Hey,

I noticed today pulling off the T25 from the W10 motor that there are 2 studs on the T25 that bolt up to the J-pipe. Can someone please tell me what size of studs these are and recommend a place to get them? I need to put these on my 2871R.

::EDIT:: These seem to be 8x1.25mm

Also, will the stock DET oil return pipe work with a GT2871R or will I need a different one? Was wondering if the positioning will be the same. Any other little things like this people have run into lmk!

Thanks!

the exhaust houding bolts are 8mm and the jpipe to dp bolts are 10mm. you can get them from atpturbo. the stock oil drain will fit any garrett turbo.

Cool. thanks for the info. Ya I was doing some reading and found out that the studs are 8x1.25mm Too bad I already put a 2nd order in w/ATP a week ago lol. I'm paying more in shipping than for the products these days.

Good to know on the stock oil drain. Didn't know if the pipe would position correctly w/the 2871. Shouldn't need anything else for the oil drain then.

you may need to heat up the oil drain so you can you position it. The drain location depends on the manifold.

It's an Avenir motor with an Avenir manifold so that combo should work I guess. If it's not positioned right for some reason we'll bring the heat to it unless it's wildly off for some reason.

Also, I seem to keep forgetting all the bolt sizes and such are on the Garrett site ;/

Actually the oil drains are different from the journal bearings to the ball bearing turbos. I had to drill the holes out to get the drain from my T25 onto my GT28 and open up the gasket holes too.
