gtir head on stand det
Hey I searched but couldn't really find anything.

I have a gti-r motor that is taking me a while to get parts for, so I am planning on just buying another standard det and dropping it in. I had work done on the gtir head. It has new valve seals, valve guides, 3 angle valve job, BC stage 2 cams, and BC titanium retainers with valve springs.

Would I be able to swap the gtir head onto the other motor, and use the other motor's intake manifold? The ITB setup isn't ready, so I can't use it. Also are the gtir and other det share the same head bolt size and dowel size? Thanks in advance.

That doesn't matter, you could just use the bolts that fit on the block, the GTi-R head will be fine.

BUT... you need the ITBs, other manifold will not fit without modification, unknown to me at this time (maybe slotting and redrilling the bolts on the high port manifold would work?????).

the dowels on GTiR are bigger too

GTiR ITB's fit on a highport DE so why wouldnt it work vice versa dude?

I would worry about head float if I didn't get the dowels or studs of the matching size... that is if i was looking to push some power. Just my 2 cents.

I did this on a customers car a few years ago. It ran very good. The main problem i ran into was that we had to use the stock head studs. ARP's were to short and the Pulsar ones can't fit. You can get the block drilled and tapped to to fit the Pulsar studs. The car ran nice with big turbo and all. Just make sure you catch the 10mm bolts around the head before you start to tourque the head down.
