I'm about to try out Penzoil to see if it's any better then redline, it's cheaper and available locally .

That's funny because they say the pennzoil is like water and I redline does not have a squeeky clean plate either.

redline shock proof heavy. Mike K swears by this stuff.

Strawberry syrup here as well. Wonderful stuff. Painful first thing on a freezing morning, but shifts are buttah after the car warms up.

I voted for Redline MT-90 because I'm going to switch back to it. Right now I'm doing 55%/45% MT-90/Shockproof and the lack of syncro operation at cold temps isn't worth the extra protection for me.

Edit: Oh yah, I'm making 303 WHP. More importantly I only make 237 WTQ.

They can say what they want, I first hand experienced this, and will first hand experience Penzzoil Syncromesh, thus well see if I keep to Penzoil or back to MT-90.

I have used MT-90 NA and boosted and it seems to be just about the best all around. I'm just getting tired of having to order it and pay for shipping

To each his own. Coastal is what they stock down in this area. Along with the mobile. I had no idea pennzoil even made a syncromesh MT fluid, we only use the syncromesh brand in automatic trannys. I personally have used pennzoil sythetic tranny fluid and experienced a burning aroma from my engine bay. I drained that stuff the next day. Could be a coincidence but I was not going to find out the hard way either.

i have used the royal purple crap and it doesnt feel near as thick as the redline mt-90. and nothing makes my gears as smooth as heavy duty shock proof.

I am curious how you all use normal coastal and Valvoline or mobil oils. If I don't use a GL4 oil my trans won't shift. I put some 75w90 coastal in my car to flush the system after the new build and it wouldn't go into gear.

The shockproof is the best I've used so far. the Synchromesh pennzoil works great but I have some excessive gear noise after extended freeway driving from the oil not being thick enough.
