I think you're silly

Just experiment with it, and when you blow it, change it up a little. SR's are cheap.

I think a 6262 w 13:1 and meth would probably work out pretty well.

I'll tell you I'm pretty annoyed with my 9.5:1 compression right now. I'm starting to wish I had 8.5:1. See here for reference.

^I will be. I have a O2 induction to go on it, so it will still make good power. People have been making a big deal about the highport head here lately, but I see Ashton is doing just fine with his.

8.5:1 - FTW!

What's wrong with the highport head?

Also, I'm with you Ben, I'm just now getting to the point where I feel comfortable to WOT on my 9.5:1 DE+T, and I think I am detonating a little bit. Partial throttle is fine most of the time, but WOT always give me a little hick-up here and there and I don't like it. I will be playing with timing once I install the wideband and N60. It could also be fuel things (motivation to actually buy the wideband).

But a high compression turbo build sounds like a blast, if it were built/tuned right to handle it. Would definitely be a fun experiment.

The worst part is that I know it can be done. People turbo these 9.5:1 engines all day long without any troubles at all especially at low boost. (Unless they are blissfully ignorant of their detonation situation.)

Maybe it's the winter blend of gasoline? Maybe it's something else. I have a few ideas in my head. Maybe it's not detonating. Maybe I'll find some 100 octane or something and see if it behaves the same or not.

Sorry for the offtopic. I know high comp turbo builds can work, I'm just annoyed. =/
