We were talking plugs in another thread, and that reminded me of something that the Dyno tech Brian mentioned (whom also happens to be a Nissan enthusiast
), he mentioned that my spark seemed pretty weak up top. Weak spark would also help explain why I'm running a little more rich up top, IMO. I'm currently gapping my plugs down to .026" and they're BRK7E's.
I'm wondering this: Should I try the BRK6E's gapped at the same .026"? I don't want to deal with modifying any part of the ignition system. It needs to remain stock until it can no longer support the motor, period.
I don't know how much hotter the 6's burn compared to the 7's, so stepping back to a 6 may be too much? Should I gap them down even further to a .022 or .024? Seems pretty damn tight, and FWIR, tighter gaps mean weaker spark?
