Any way around it, nice #s Tek.

Thanks Swiss I'll be picking up some new (BETTER) gauges in the not too distant future. Gonna go with some prosport electrical gauges.

Nice numbers... time to go look up your build to see what's done Did Hill or Brian run it on the dyno? Were you down there with the legacy/sti/sentra crew that went to 5guys first? My buddy Josh was there in a white STi.

Kong ran it on the dyno. Yeah, we went to 5guys first to hang out until Agile opened.

Yeah, I think that's the most active I've seen the Mid-Atlantic section in a LONG time.

Finally got access to a scanner. The dynosheet is also available on a smaller scale in my gallery on the forum.

Clearly still making power at peak powerband. I'm honestly considering dropping the powerband by slapping in some cam gears, and re-tuning it. I'm thinking that if I bring the powerband down a little lower, that I could possibly wake up the turbo a bit sooner as well. Remember, these are BC STG3 cams dropped straight in, no adjustable cam gears on them yet.

We were talking plugs in another thread, and that reminded me of something that the Dyno tech Brian mentioned (whom also happens to be a Nissan enthusiast ), he mentioned that my spark seemed pretty weak up top. Weak spark would also help explain why I'm running a little more rich up top, IMO. I'm currently gapping my plugs down to .026" and they're BRK7E's.

I'm wondering this: Should I try the BRK6E's gapped at the same .026"? I don't want to deal with modifying any part of the ignition system. It needs to remain stock until it can no longer support the motor, period.

I don't know how much hotter the 6's burn compared to the 7's, so stepping back to a 6 may be too much? Should I gap them down even further to a .022 or .024? Seems pretty damn tight, and FWIR, tighter gaps mean weaker spark?

Tekkie, I'm going to PM you about your torque curve.
About the spark plug stuff though. You should give .024" a try or even the .022" as long as those NGK's are the ones with the small electrode. That tiny electrode prevents shrouding of the spark and basically negates the problems with a small gap (idle misfires).

Warmer plugs don't have an appreciably stronger spark than cold plugs so if you're changing them for that reason, don't. A tighter gap makes the difference between a spark and no spark. It doesn't change the strength of the spark really.

I would stick with the BRK7E plugs and maybe give a tighter gap a try. However, what made him think it was weak up top? Doesn't look like it from here.

PM replied. What would you be comparing electrode size to? I didn't notice any difference in electrode size, seemed pretty typical to me. Unless of course you're comparing them to something like an iridium plug?

He mentioned that it felt a little weak up top, in the sense that it felt like it was starting to break up in higher RPM's. I did notice it in a couple of runs that it was slightly audible, but he was running the car on the dyno so I didn't get a chance to actually feel it.
