Thread: wont go past 7psi

okay heres the deal
I have a sr20det black top
it is all stock w/ t25 internal wastegate
I have a manual boost controller the whole ball and spring deal
but it will not go over 8 psi.
Im stumped. me and a few buddies have tried everything.
I even took the manual boost controller completely off and left it open wastegate (diaphram) and got only 3 psi

Sounds like you have a serious boostleak. Did you pressure test the whole system?

When I had a big leak in the system, I couldn't boost past 5 psi.

Also test your wastegate.

My leak ended up being in the boost lines of the the boost controller itself, they had 2 gapping holes in them, I had boost leaks in the piping as well, but the entire issue was the boost lines themselves. Since the boost changed whenever you took the boost controller off I would think that thats what it is

happened to a buddy of mine's DSM it was only pushing 2 lbs.....turns out the wastegate was stuck open.

I don't think he would get as high as 8 psi with a wastegate stuck open, or at least all the way. Now if the wastegate doesn't close all the way, I can see that.

so if I understand correctly with the boost controller on u got 8psi but couldnt boost it up right? but you unplugged the vacum line to the wastegate so that the wastegate will remain closed and boost it up to all the turbos capability but you only got 3psi?

thats weird, id say ur wastegate is ****ed...
