Like ive said on my other thread. The driveability is not the easiest thing in the world but once you get used to it, it becomes second nature and you dont even notice the quirks of it. Such as the rattling plates when the clutch is depressed. Once you get used to taking off with a bit more rpm you wont get the chatter and it will feel pretty smooth and that just takes getting used to the engagement point of the clutch because there is a spot where it starts to grab which is good for preloading at the track and then any more release on the pedal and its fully engaged. So once you learn the points again it becomes easy to drive as you find little tricks around it that smoothen it out.

As far as harshness on the trans. Thats a different story. After going with the twin disk i broke 3 gearstacks within 3 months. 3rd and 4th gear at my daily boost levels roughly 440whp by shifting too quick into 3rd and 4th. I never broke a gear just rolling into the throttle already in gear i always broke it on the shift into the next gear. Its very hard on the gearstacks on street tires. On slicks, never had an issue quick shifting. The slicks absorb most of the impact.

But those 3 gearstacks i broke i was also using a 75w90 synthetic gear oil. I switched to a conventional Valvoline 85w140 gear oil and my next gearstack lasted over 6 months of abuse and for the most part i learned to be a little easier on the shifts and rev match them better as well but i still did a couple really quick shifts on street tires even at 30 lbs of boost when running some crotch rockets and the gears held up perfect. It really was a difference in the oil. There are several others on here that can vouch for the 85w140 Valvoline gear oil helping save gearstacks.

Even if you go with something besides a twin disk Rob, I highly highly recommend you give the 85w140 valvoline conventional gear oil a shot. It really does help. I cant stress it enough. I run it in my 6 speed trans as well. You can just feel the difference in how smooth the gears are. Shifts are smooth as butter and you can feel they are cusioned really well. No trans noise at all. You wont regret running it at all, quite the opposite.

Same transmission now for 12 months...that has to be a record for me!
