yeah at worst case use a fmic with cryro kit on the fmic and you will get even cooler temps than that. haha

I don't ever have to refill this system.... I can do as many high boost runs and never worry about running low on Co2 or any other liquid that cools the intake charge...

doesnt matter, its just impractical. Again who cares if the car has cold intake charge temps all of the time. Its only practical when you use it which is when? hardly ever. At the track ok so someone would have to spend 30.00 to fill up a co2 bottle that will last all night. Big whoop. Keep it filled all the time for those time when doing tuning runs or fun runs or whatever. Again way less of cost. Maybe not over a long period of time.

But like most of said. People would rather do that then save and spend a crapload on a setup like that.

Hell most people on here go just fine running a normal fmic with nothing to cool it other than the outside air and guess what, it works perfectly fine.

What size turbo are you running on your setup?

David, I don't feel the flack you're taking is deserved. I wonder, like Vadim said, that if you'd not been so boastful about the setup in the first place if you'd have less BS to deal with. I understand why you went with the setup and I agree it is the right setup for you. The price you paid seems, to me, to be on the high side of fair. If I price out all of the components and the labor I can see how $1,600 might end up at the bottom line.

Actually, before there were any replies to this thread I sent it to a friend of mine who was considering an air-water setup. I was telling him how bad the "barrel" canister style cores were and was telling him he needed to go with a core that would flow well. I sent him your thread as an example of the right kind of core to get.

I just want you to know that some of us around here see the big picture.
Cheers.

I just dont get why you need it for that turbo setup, it cost more than the turbo setup and motor together

You are right. I would be pissed if I spent that much for a custom setup and got that crap back.

It's not just an intercooler. It's an intercooler, a mounting bracket, charge pipes/couplers/clamps, water lines, heat exchanger, water pump, Tial BOV, and talent/L-A-B-O-R. How many times does it have to be said?
Sure it could still be done as well for cheaper, but that's splitting hairs in my opinion.
