Heat wrap
Hey guys/gals

just wondering who out there has wraped, there exhaust manifold, downpipe and intercoolers piping, or anything to keep heat in. I was looking on ebay and found wraps for cheap. Or is it worth it to go out and spend like 60-100 bucks on Dfi wrap or a name brand

Just wondering who has bought the wrap off ebay or in store and used it. how was the quality and how did it perform.

I am looking in to getting a 1"x50ft i was looking to get it in purple but its around 170 cnd. so i am going to stick with black, light brown.

thanks for the help

cheers

I've got some cheap summit brand 2" wide (black) heat wrap on my downpipe. Installation was as expected, and I assume it's doing it's job well. *shrug*
It's fiberglass with ceramic powder, how can you go wrong? =]

I like the 2" wide stuff for most things over the 1" stuff unless the object is very intricate with very tight bends.

People with fiberglass heat wrap on intercooler pipes make me laugh.

Personally, I would just get the heat critical components ceramic coated. It works great as far as keeping the temps down in the engine bay. If you're THAT concerned about wrapping the hotside piping with wrap, you may just want to use thermal coating instead.

i have decided to go with a ceramic thermal coating. and get a sleeve for the cold side of intercooler and hot side not worry.... its to close to the ground and will get wet and dirty.

i just tought it wiould be fun to have purple exhaust wrap

cheers
