The S14 actually ran a 86.5mm bore the whole time it was running. It never had a big bore 90mm motor in it.

I will rephrase that, its a 89.5mm bore, stock stroke, stock aluminum block making around 1400whp

Could you elaborate a bit on this please?
I'm kinda confused, are talking about concrete as in cement concrete?
How did you do this? got pics?

The concrete strengthens the weak points and reduces the vibrations. It allows for some cooling, but not really a good option for a street car. Generally these cars increase the oil cooling system or run Methanol injection I think. Sometimes the cooling channels are partially filled sometimes all the way filled. I have only heard of V8s doing this though so I could be off

if i remember correctly there was a bunch of honda guys doing something similiar, fill around the sleeves with like jb weld or some sort of expoxy maybe like a loctite liquid steel.

Well not concrete:

HardBlok Water Jacket Filler - Increase Horsepower For High Performance Engines.

We used to fill the heads, but that was causing too much problems. So now we just run water through the head.

so is that in your VE block at the moment in the S15?

how long can the engine idle for before getting to hot? do you have temp sensors on the block itself how does it all work?

i second the interest on weather or not havig the block or head filled could withstand traffic idle, or DD temps you might see, istead of the track pass temps that the head and block might see.

Uhhh, they fill the coolant jackets with the epoxy therefore rendering almost any thought of DD futile. Most of those cars run a cooling system since they start it, pull up, burnout, run and shut down. It doesnt run for very long.

i understand that but you would still need to get it up to temp to get optimum performance but i would imagine being up to temp and being into meltdown have a very fine line between them! so wonderd if they had block temp sensors ect to make sure they dont cook the lump.. as staging can last a long time in itself when your having a staging battle..
