Compressor housing swap
Hello everyone

So stupid me i did am impulse buy *** it was a sweet deal, i bought a gt2876r with t2flang and was doing research, and it wont fit bottom mount styles *** of the 4inch inlet. But on atp turbo, they is an option that when u want to buy the turbo, of running a gt2860 or gt2871 housing.
after searching on google and this forum and a bunch of others, i only found like 3 post saying it fits with no issue

Has anyone done this

because its cheaper for me to run a gt2860 compressor housing then buying a new turbo, or getting top mount manifold, new downpipe and new hot side intercooler piping and intake to turbo piping.

i emailed Atp but its been a week and no responce

thanks for help

cheers

rob

When ATP says you have the option of purchasing the GT2860 or GT2871 compressor housing on the GT2876 turbo they really mean you can purchase a GT2876 style compressor housing that has the same inlet and outlet dimensions at the smaller turbos and most things should fit and line up the same as if you had the smaller turbo, but the compressor housings are completely different on the inside and you absolutely need the specific housing ATP is talking about (designed for the 76mm compressor wheel). You can't just take any old GT2860 or GT2871 compressor housing and slap it on there.

Hope that helps some.

i figured that cuz a 2860 has a 60mm fin and thats alot smaller then 76mm so, i think i might just try to see it and buy a gt2860

Who says 4 inch inlets don't fit with bottom mounts??

Surely you're referring to an OEM manifold?
