Gauges. Help me pick a spot + pods
Hey,

So I'm going to be running 3 gauges.

- oil pressure
- boost
- AFR (AEM)

I want to put the oil pressure and boost gauge on my steering wheel column. The AFR gauge I was thinking about putting on either side of my instrument cluster on the dash. I want them visible when I'm driving so I don't have to look down or anywhere to the extremes to look at them(i.e. not where my radio is).

For example. These are the two spots I was thinking about on the dash for the AFR shown in red. (pic stolen from Squirlz )

I was wondering what some good/cheap pods were. All the gauges are 2 1/16. I'm looking for a pod that can hold 2 gauges on the steering column that works w/a 200sx. Also, something I can mount around the sides of the dashboard around the cluster.

Any advice?

Thanks!

I've got my oil pressure & boost gauges mounted in the dash either side of the cluster, just under where the red spots are in your picture. Cutting the holes for them was a bit of a mission, but I think the position is better than on the pillar as they're very easy to read from there, I can take in the info from all the gauges in one glance away from the road, and they don't stand out from the outside like pillar-mounted gauges do.

If you got some time can you take a pic of your setup? I'd like to see how it looks.

Thanks!

That looks pretty good. That's exactly what I was thinking about. What are you using to hold the gauges and how are you keeping it on the dash?

That wheel makes me wish I never sold mine!!!!

I got something similar to this:
Perrin Universal Adjustable Column Mount Gauge Pod Kit:eBay Motors (item 200405598044 end time Dec-13-09 07:46:04 PST)

Mine was machined aluminum, though. I don't know what happened to it. Probably in a box or in someone else's car by now
