My personal opinion, you are already heading in the wrong direction with your money with

yours last post. Listen for less than 1,500 you can get a JDM DE and a T28 with your stock

ECU with a SAFC and it be reliable and safe at 280-300 whp. Take your other 5500 and do

what you please with it and your have a Boosted SR20 for 1,500. This hands down is

yours best option more so than any other by the details you gave us in your first post.

Thank you Chris. Absolutely agreed.

I was wondering if anyone else actually read the first post?

Id agree a DE+T on a T28 will def get you in your goal range... But i would go with AEM or similar standalone.
Dont forget 555cc inj, AFPR, pump, clutch, 3" exhaust...etc
and dont forget to pull the VC and do a compression test to check the health of a used JDM DE.

a safc will be more then good for a vet.

i would personally build a de as its bottom end is much stronger.

but you can most certainly build a stock bottom and top ve+t with a good ecu and a safc and have a fairly reliable (depending on hp) motor.
