VE+T DET or DE+T???
So I should be getting my enlistment bonus pretty soon and i wanna go turbo but im not sure which route i want to go. All my friends are telling me to get a VE and just go all motor and spray nitrous. I think that would be nice but i want a boosted car. So then they suggest the VE+T idea but im worried about how that motor would do with boost on it. I like the idea of the DET because its a factory turboed motor. I have about 7 grand to work with but i would rather not spend it all on the build. I dont really have a clear goal right now, but i do want to be somewhere in the 275-325 whp range and be as safe as possible. What do you guys think about?

Man 275-325 whp should be easy on a good tuned VE+T with a T28 or so , but tunning will be key , as it should be with any build , but yes a VE can handle some boost

I know you have your opinion on this but, I am just stating what I know. People tend to knock the S-AFC but, have never used one.

It can easily be done with a S-AFC especially is he has a decent programed ECU for a base tune. I have seen countless cars including my own car get some real good tunes with a S-AFC. If he were to get a Calum / JWT ECU with a decent base tune the S-AFC can clean up the tune a bunch and help with making nice power.

Hell even with a stock DE ECU the car can be tuned with a S-AFC and run great. I know of a handful of boosted stock blocked VE's tuned with a S-AFC and a NA DE ECU and they run perfect and are quite impressive.

have to agree my de-t has a jwt ecu with a safc-2 on top and 342whp at 15psi on pump. I could make another 18whp on top of that with more tunning. I have also put them in tons of other cars. its a simple tuning solution with basic functions but does work great.

I would build a nice ve-t. I have both a ve powered car and a de-t. I am going to combine the vvl goodness with the holy sh*t of boost.

so i can retain my DE ecu and run S-AFC, and use the S-AFC to control the VVL
