Finally got my car back on the road..now boost problems update: new actuator
Luckly I don't have a heavy foot and i pay attention to my boost gauge. It seems that the internal wastegate act. is not opening and allowing it to over boost, i can't control it with my boost controller. I have been running the same controller and vac. line setup since it was a stock t25 and it worked fine.
Is there a way to test the wastegate? Should I run a vac. line from the actuator to the intake mani and take the controller out of the question?

Congrats on the ECU purchase!



Yah, take the controller solenoid out of the equation and see what happens. Also to test the actuator; hook a compressor up to the sucker and watch the rod and see if it moves as it should.

What pressure is the wastegate supposed to open at? And what boost pressures were you seeing?

thanks ben..maybe thats a problem..i just set it closed was it suppose to be set open?

no, its supposed to have the flapper closed. But if you have a lot of tension on the rod it will cause it to not open up till a later boost level. So make sure the tension is good on it and check to make sure its functioning when pressure is applied to it.

And please tell me your using a good boost guage not some crappy one.

o ok, so i did set it right.. ima apply some pressure in the line to see if i can hear it open and close..im using a prosport boost gauge w/ warning. Its cheap but it did do its job warning me

Don't listen for it... Watch for it. I don't think you'll be able to hear it?

Unhook the vacuum hose that goes to the WG from the boost control solenoid and put pressure to it there. Watch the wastegate actuator rod with your eyes and see if it opens and closes with the pressure.

Be sure to set the regulator on the air compressor to only ~10psi. If you have the air compressor set to 80psi you might break the diaphragm in the actuator.

yep.ima have a in line boost gauge to watch that.
