personally on my 2871r i dont do any cool downs, although i do have a turbo timer, i actually feel the timer is a pain in the ass i keep the timer off for the most part i use it as a volt meter, other than that it has no real purpose
I'm not going to lie, I didn't not know that you did not neet to cool down a water cooled turbo. But what I'm not sure of, and I know this is probably a stupid question, that I probably already know the answer to...but is the BB T25 water cooled? If it is, and if I'm right...it is, then I've been wasting 30seconds of my life at a time, every time I park my car. lol

I've read in the past that if you run the turbo hard right before you are about to shut it off, even being water cooled, you should let it idle for a short period before shutting it off to help the turbo cool down a bit. Is this not valid advice?

Sure it is, but it's still not "necessary". The cooling system continues to function after the vehicle is shut off, in a round about way. As I said before, I dogged the hell out of my 30r and would just shut it off without letting it idle. No ill effects to speak of.

How many miles did you put on the 30R?

Driving around CT for tuning, then from CT down to Savannah, GA and back up to NJ all in one weekend. I think it was roughly 2000 miles round trip? I don't really remember, other than it taking FOREVER to get there even at 80~90mph.
