I can confirm on my turbine side... all the connections that mate the o2 housing to the turbine housing are studs, with I believe 13mm nuts. Here are some old pictures, but you get the idea... but I just went outside to check and verify. If you need better pics of anything let a brother know.

Yes, definitely. It's been a bit of a coaster ride. I know most people would think that something so small=easier, but from a fab perspective it's the opposite. Something with a large space between two points leaves you many options and gives you more area to work with. When you make a quick tight turn, with little space in between, the cuts need to be exact, need to be dead on. In addition, with thinner metals, you need to have the cuts be perfect, otherwise the weld quality will suffer.

In the end, my need is to have the proto's cuts be dead balls. With that done, then I can copy the cuts for multiple units, and make it cost effective to make them. In the first unit thus far, I've got easily 20+ hours, and have used over 200.00 in materials....and it still ain't done. The flanges were the first hurdle, the transitions were the second, the lack of bend radius was the third, then the quick turn was the fourth. I got through all that, and then it came from being made out of 6 pieces (not attractive...lol), down to 5 pieces, then a jump to 3 pieces (which I did yesterday and found really won't work cleanly).

So today I will be remaking hopefully what will be the final piece. It will consist of 4 pieces just for the dp bend. No mandrel bender can bend 2.5" pipe to such a tight radius, so "cheater" cuts must be used. Early stages aren't attractive to the consumer eye (fab guys can see past it to the finished product), which is why I haven't posted pics. Another issue, is I'm picky as hell. If something works, yet I know I can either rework it and make it better, or reduce the number of welds, I do it. Had I been asked to make one unit for say, a local customer, that would've been simple and would've been done. But having to make one, which is basically the mold for god knows how many more...that's a different story.

I know some of you are waiting, and some of you have builds waiting. Please consider the time and effort I have extended to you Nissan guys though. I'm trying to do what I can to extend ya'lls aftermarket support and build ability. I just need to do it so that it meets my needs from a financial and hourly pay standpoint, while meeting ya'lls needs which is cost.

So, back to work I go....I ended so late last night, I actually slept here. The upside is though, I didn't have a chance of seeing that ****in rabbit.

I'm 99% sure my o2 housing connected with bolts, NO studs. When do you plan to ship the 2 prototypes?

Greg V can get the studs. I think he keeps some of them on hand.

Any eta on the full down pipes?

what ever they used, the studs are better.

It seems like most of the ones I've seen have the two on the bottom as studs and the rest as bolts, but you can use studs in any of the holes.

Alright, I just have to get hold of Matt to get his car here. From there I'll just jig the dump pattern and be able to start making them. I ended up reducing the pieces to 3, and it simply didn't work...so 4 is where it's at.

The look may change slightly from one to the next, but all will follow the same concept. The radius just couldn't be done with standard mandrel bent tubing, so a little moto-x flavor had to be thrown in.

Once the dump gets jigged here this one will go out. The mild steel one is pictured. Basically I'm hoping to just get quicker making them once I have the basic concept down. I spent alot of time not thinking about this one, nearly as much as the next several that need made. I have a pretty good design approach from here despite not being able to jig each cut.

So, once I can be sure the dumps won't hit anything, these will go out. With Matt's car here the dp's will get made as well.

Spy pic with jig blurred....haha. You can see the 2"-2.5" transition, and how tight the bend was. In the end, I feel alright about it. Has that motox dynamax feel.
