since I'm kind of a noob to the turbo game. are the 5-bolt flanges for T2x and GT2x series turbos the same?

Well, I think we need to figure out what people want most right off the bat, so I know what I'm making first.

Ya'll need to take the lead here, cause your the Nissan guys. What's the most demanded combination or piece here? Just the simple elbow with an opened dump, or a full dp or what? Let me know so I can source some stuff and get this started and get you guys some prices and get stuff sent out.

So anyone committed to purchase, let me know what you want please..... What I'll then do is make one or two items so everyone can see, then we'll start taking orders and sending them out.

I don't want to speak for the whole community here, and I'm speaking from my own observation:

There has always been a demand for o2 housings made, because our stock one is very restrictive... but there is literally no market for this product for us. I think either open dump or recirculated elbows are something of a hand in hand demand, i think both are a great idea.

I know there are a lot of t2_ and gt2_ turbo series people out there using a stock exhaust manifolds (bluebird & avenier/gtir). Since the t25 o2 housing fits both the bluebird, avenir, and gtir manifold (w/ small modif.), I think developing a t25 o2 housing to be used with each (elbow) is a great start. This way the market remains as open as it can be for all t2_ and gt2_ series members, and essentially, only one or two jigs are needed.

As far as a downpipe (o2 housing to cat), we have a few sources... well mainly one... but as stated above, with fwd sr20 people - A good price & decent quality always stands out above all.

Again, I don't want to speak for everyone - just speaking from my observations.

I see, well that's undoubtedly what I needed to know. I'd say look for these about a month or so from now. Once I can get the jig set up, then all I need is to source the flanges, and then start making the units.

Materials will effect cost. Stainless is generally what I like to use, but it's more expensive. Mild steel can do the job, and if painted with high temp, not only is it cheaper to make, but resistant to corrosion just as well.

One thing you will NOT see from me, is this extreme polished stuff. This adds unnecessary cost, and it's a tactic used to attract buyers to buy junk that looks good. Just look to the ebay ss autocrome mani's for that. My stuff is clean, welded well, and made in the USA.

blue bird screamer type 02 housings will be most in demand.

why simply because most of use go t25 as our first turbo, then when we upgrade to a t28 or bigger gt series turbo we re-use our blue bird j-pipe/o2 housing because it works with the down pipe on our cars.

you make one ill buy one !

stratton.

I see, well being from the Honda world, like I said my Nissan lingo is lacking. I've used T25's and GT28's though through the course of doing Honda setups. In my recollection, the T25 turbine housings were pretty tiny on the outlet side. Does anyone have any pics of the two housings (t2_ and gt2_)?

I want to see how many of these flanges I already have available.

best way to get a pic of the flanges is to check ebay, they sell the flanges all the time on there. If i were you i'd pick on up for a few bucks and use it as a pattern...cake

These may help:

That is a T25 turbo/O2 housing.

Chriscar has some good pics of a GT28RS in this thread:

Yeah, that'd be me....lol.

On these turbo's, yeah I just turbo'd a honda with one of those. I just did a basic dp for it though. Either way though, I have the flange patterned out already. I had to turn the compressor outlet neck and weld the sh*tty cast aluminum, but it turned out well.
