I know CHRA and wheel housings can be interchanged, but straight from Garrett, the GT2871 turbos that are a direct bolt-in don't come in anything but the .64 AR. At least that's what's listed on their web site.

2871 is easy to swap and will get you those 100 ponies with no other mods. I believe you have maf and injector to support it. Plus you can sell off your current turbo.
If you really need more power that is the easiest way. You will need to send it back to Junior though. Kind of a waste of money imo but I can't throw stones in that arena.

The gt2871r in the .64 is a great turbo especially with s4's. i was making 290 whp or so at 10psi on one with a 10:1 engine with conservative base timing with a 2.5" exhaust. The 370's were maxed at that point though and i never got to dyno with my 625cc's and the o2 induction manifold.

It was a very fun and responsive set up. The 2871 is the turbo i would go with if i was you. I think if you went with the disco potato you would just want more power a few months down the road and would upgrade to the 2871r anyway.

As for the other turbos you are talking about i really dont have any input as i have no personal experience with them, and i dont know anyone around here running one either.

agian i really appreciate everyones input, insight, advice and honest opinions.

after going to jmr racing's dyno day and watching a sr20 with a 718r with the 84 ex housing lay down over 400whp with no load and like 385 with load on the dyno im deff going with that turbo.

15 pounds i should be well over 350whp and and at 18-20 pounds close to 400whp. plenty to pretty much demolish anything on the streets.

itll all depend on my tire choice at that point, now from a roll on in third ill roast the tires till redline and this is with azenis. i think im going to get the new nitto tires.

thanks agian bros !

I agree with the switch to Nittos, but say it with me. "Progressive boost control."

Azenis aren't good in a straight line as many people think. The sidewall is too stiff. My stock nx on azenis peels out longer if I dump the clutch from a stop compared to my b14 with s4s and a 75 shot on toyo t1r tires which have a softer sidewall. Azenis are a great tire for autoxing though. That's why I've had 4 sets of them. =)

SAFC2 is FTW. i made some good power with my Stock ECU, last year. Congrats STRATTON.

For some reason i always read and heard on th old forums that SAFC2 with JWT did not work well.

x2 SAFC is a necessity if you want the most power out of an off the shelf JWT tune. Especially I'm told if you are boosted and running bigger than 370cc injectors.

A SAF-C is good for any ECU. You can clean up the fuel curve very nicely with one. It is a kickass tool. Most the peopel who bash them are the people who have never used one. It allows you to run up to 50% larger injectors than what the ECU is programmed for.
