Checked the number 4 rod bearing being its the farthest from the oiling system and the bearing looked absolutely perfect as well as the journal. The cylinder walls looked nice and clean as well

Just got it all put back together. Im gonna give it 24 hours for the loctite and silicon to cure before putting oil in it and firing it up. Ill let you guys know if i can see any noticable oil pressure difference. Im thinking maybe 15-20psi more throughout the revs.

UUUUUHHHHHHHHT OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Ashton I have this exact same problem with mine. My oil pressure running 20w50 is getting around 25psi at idle. I never had this low of pressure before. I am running a GTiR pump, not a VE pump. Sigh. I bet mine is missing too. DangIT!

I still see over 60psi at high rpm, but I used to peg out the gauge at over 100psi all the time. I figured my sending unit was just broken.

I will be taking my pan off very soon to check for it. Man, this means I gotta take the dang pump off again. I could just say fuggit, and fix some other issues with the car. I want to do a lot more to this baby in the future! I got a spare VE available that could make for a pretty sick build. mmmmmm.

Ugh. I hope I don't have to deal with this any time soon.

yeah i would not doubt it. I just noticed mine was not running the psi's others were getting with the ve oil pump. Close but still lower. Again i dont think it was such a big problem but i can see it hindering oil supply to the bearings but with the ve pump they were still getting plenty of oiling even with the gaping hole where the oiling pin used to go.

This has happened to two other people so far that i know of and it might be a good thing to add into the Engine torque specs sheet in the How to section that if your going to build a motor to make sure you remove the pin and add loctite to it and reinstall and let cure before running the ve pumps.

Im running Mobil 1 15w-50 and i love it. Its definetly providing everything with proper cusioning and lubrication. The inside of the motor was freakin clean as hell. I usually change my oil every 2500 miles so far.

I figured the M1 15w50 was crap because my oil pressure dropped severely when running it. I bet that dang oiler came out.

yeah i bet. I love the mobil 1 15w50. its nice and thick and it doesnt apear to break down near even after hard use. I put almost 3k miles on the oil before now and when i drained it, it was still fairly clean and still had that nice oily feel to it and cusioning feel to it not like watery crap like you see from most other oils after use.

I wont use any other mobil 1 oil other than the 15w50 since hearing all the bad stuff about the 5w30 and 10w30. i used to use 10w40 on my last motors and it seemed to work well but ive heard only good things about the 15w50 weight Mobil 1 and so im sticking with it.

I'm so worried my oiler pin is going to pop out the first time I take my engine close to redline. I'm also dreading having to take off the front cover and do the right thing...

Why oh why does making a reliable turbo engine have to be so damn hard, expensive, time consuming and complicated?
