New here
Hello, I was a Moderator on Nico for some time until I recently picked up a DET (username on Nico was CodeRed)

Here are some pix of the motor.

And then I ran into this:

I am going to call the guy who sold it to me tomorrow and see what I can do about it...

It says "DO NOT ADD OIL"

I would just do what it says

That looks like the sludge monster lol. Vadim can let you in on some secrets to get that baby nice and shiny. It should work great after that.

Sludge monster part 2!!! The next generation!

I think this MIGHT be a little worse than Vadims sludge monster.

Welcome!

I bet you that motor is form Tiger Jap Auto. Hopefully it wasn't too expensive. I can assure you, you are better off getting another engine/turbo if possible.

There is a good chance the turbo is sized up too.

I'm actually going to call the guy who sold me the motor tomorrow. And no, it was not from from Tiger Jap Auto. The turbo seams to have very little shaft play and spins freely. But I never expected this.

Nah his is wet at least, mine was completely dry.

If you do get stuck with this motor and can't return it. There is something you can do. It will be a lot of work and time, but would leave you space to upgrade a bunch of internals.

You would have to take it completely apart, hot tank or flush with diesel. Get ready to replace the following items...
  • Gaskets and Seals (Head, valve cover, oil pan, front main, rear main, etc.)
  • Timing Chain Tensioner
  • Cam Oil squirters
  • Cylinder Oil squirters
  • Oil Pump
  • Oil Pressure Sensor
  • Piston Rings might be gone
  • Turbo would need to be rebuilt, I can't imagine how much of that crap is in there.

Good call, good luck . Turbo might not have shaft play because the sludge is keeping it from moving
