looks like the merge collector is poorly designed to me.

really? it has like a header like design to it. flow rate is bad for this kind of design?

if you look at a properly designed el manifold all runners merge at the exhaust flange. the collector does not look big enough the amount of exhaust gas that will be merging. I bet there will lots of back pressure and turbulence. its made that way so it can be cheap and so a non skilled welder can make it.

Cylinder pairing is wrong. That will mess up the flow rate.

If you look at a stock header, or stock turbo manifold, 1 and 4 is paired and 2-3 is paired. This is done for flow reasons hehe.
