Thread: Help me name this turbo..

Buddy of mine has had this turbo in his garage at home for a while now. it was there when he moved in. We have been trying to figure out what car/truck it came from. numbers on it are 139049 and 51t/32 2145n. i think its from a turbo diesel but im not sure.

Same turbo that's found on a 95~97 6.5L turbo diesel Chevy 2500.

IIRC it's the equiv. of a Holset HX30?

Brand: Borgwarner / IHI
Model: 51T-32
Size: T3/T04E
Compressor A/R: 0.7
Compressor trim: 46
Turbine A/R: 0.6
Turbine trim: stage II
Flange type: standard T3
Good for up to 400whp.

Sell for around $250 used on forums from what I've seen.

dude your the man.. where did you find that info? wonder if anyone on here could find any use for it.

Just did a google search for a 51t/32 or 51T-32.

Biggest thing you need to find out is what the wastegate spring pressure is. IIRC, the older GMC's with this turbo run around 15~17psi of gate pressure (~1bar of boost).
