Went to track, stuff broke. :(
I am going to the drags tomorrow. No slicks. Just for fun.

So I am debating putting in the stock cams and giving them another go with the timing where it is now. I don't want to lose a ton of power by switching cams, so it will be up to you guys whether or not I change them out before I go.

So... Stick with the VET cams, or go for the VE cams and see how the car does???

The other thing is... today driving to work some interesting things happened. I mashed the pedal on a 3rd gear roll, and finally... the tires ripped lose. Since I have had these tires I have been unable to get much more than a chirp from the front tires. 225-50-15 BFG. They have pretty decent traction. This morning I was pushing 24psi and it was a bit cool outside. Car ran just amazing, but a 5th gear pull at 4500rpm resulted in MASSIVE compressor surge. It sounded pretty cool, but that is not good! Apparently I can boost faster than this ported-shroud can keep up as far as surge goes. The boost needle was fluctuating back and forth from 20-27psi as the surge got out of control.

So 5th gear is useless. I will need to wait until 5500rpm before I can have a surge-free turbo

Anyway.... to VE cam swap tonight... or not.

I am still a firm beliver that the 2.0 standard VE cams work great. Have both cams switch at the same time and call it a day.

I am going to put them in right now! Hopefully that 3rd gear loss of traction continues. It is very fun lol!

Ok I went out for a drive. This car is retarded. I have no idea if it is making more power than before, but it rips them loose in 3rd still! That's what I'm talkin bout!

This thing is stupid fast for its fat a$$.

I would like to add that I did not remove the dizzy from the cam cap. I wanted timing to be completely 100% unchanged for when this thing goes to the dyno. I can't wait to see if the VE cams are besting the VET cams! It is too hard to tell in 3rd gear because neither cam holds traction. HEEE HEEE HEE! I'm giddy as a schoolgirl right now!

car sounds great coheed. The car definetly moves through the gears nicely. A hell of a lot faster than your last vids. Nice job man. For a full size car like yours its making good power to pull hard like that.

I have said it once and I will say it again. The 2.0 standard VE cams work great for boosted cars.
