NO, the poly melting is good lol. I used those on my downpipe and they were a bitch to get off but isn't that the point for them to not come off?

My bad, I don't really know what a poly nut is I was thinking the lock nuts with the plastic inside. Is this the same thing?

use copper lock nuts and you will never have this problem again.

just looked these up! Guess they are actually an OEM part on higher end cars.
