Thread: New Way of Shifting to Increase Traction?

That's a T25 being a flow disaster. With my setup I have power on the T25 until redline, so letting go of gas around 5500ish rpm seems to work.

you depress de gas pedal a little, arround 5500rpms and that way you keep the car pushing hard to the redline? or the flow of mi t25 its a disaster lol jojojojo

Any of you guys who think Azenis are good for drag racing arent making enough power! Azenis Light up super easy even with a T25! BFG Drag Radials on the skreet or go home!

The best place to shift with a T25 is at redline in first (it actually catches traction after the spinnin starts in first if you keep it floored. And then the best results for me were 7k in every other gear to keep it in the tq curve

Azenis have too stiff of a sidewall to be a good drag tire. I dont know why some people use it as a drag tire. Sure the compound is sticky but the sidewall is super stiff. Its a great autocross tire although the other tire makers have come out with better tires


A tire with a soft sidewall is good for drag but you lose steering response and it feels sloppy in transitions when compared to a tire with a stiff sidewall (Azenis etc.).

With a stock T25, you have no reason to rev past 6500 RPM, it will just keep on loosing power. This was my case too, I actually lowered my redline to 7100 before because I would never eve hit that.

After I installed a ported intake manifold, the flow was increased, thus I could finally rev and not loose power past 6500 rpm, to bounce of my 7100 redline, thus I raised it to 7500 .

Now as for shifting, you can shift to second at that point and have power, but if shifting in second means your second gear RPMs will be too low, then only then you need to rev higher in 1st.

This is why people get tired of the T25 quickly LOL!

i was starting to think that something was wrong with my car 1st gear i rev up to 7000rpms the other gears i shift at 5800-6000 rpms and the power feels good

with the ported intanke manifold dont you need to port and polish the head?
did you have a picture i´m very interested in that mod.

ported intake manifolds increazse the cfm of the manifold, thye dont increase the cfm flow of the head itssself nothing substitutes head porting.

Right, before I installed the ported intake mani I had no reason to drive past the peak torque, power was just lost. After that simple mod, have a motive to actually rev up higher. So it's not only learning to drive, but having supporting mods to give you a reason to rev higher to begin with.
