New Way of Shifting to Increase Traction?
On Saturday I finally got my car running, I was angry at it because of idle issues thus I haven't driven it for over a week.
Well as I was driving at first, I burned rubber in first gear as usual, usually from 5k-ish rpm.
Then on one turn I ended up doing something interesting, and I was able to take first gear up to redline without loosing traction. I tried this method couple more times and it seemed to work well. I just want to know if there are any ill affects of it .
What I did is, I WOTed the car until 4k-5k rpm, then released the gas a bit, then once I got over 5k rpm, I WOTed it again, and guess what no chirps or wheel spin until redline/shifting.
What happened here is, I let go of gas at the peak torque, thus after the peak torque it's doesn't put down enough torque to screech the tires again, thus having full traction until redline.
