Thread: Oil puddles on top of intake manifold/runners?

Ok so after i fix one problem, another one appears. Now it seems like a pretty serious oil leak is present and im not exactly sure where its coming from, but im assuming the valve cover gasket?

it is a DET motor. There are 2 oil puddles sitting on top and in between runners 2-3 and 3-4.

^x2 how old is the gasket or when was the last time you replaced it? might need to retorque the vc down if the gasket is relitivly new

valve cover if your ina pinch, you can reseal it with rtv, i had to do that two days ago cause i couldn't buy new one right now.

thanks everyone for the replies, yeah i kinda figured it was the gasket. The thing is, i recently, like 3 weeks ago, changed the gasket. I used a low port gasket kit, but i figured it was the same. Well i guess its time to add some liquid gasket and retorque!

Sometimes, when you buy a new part and install it, you would assume that it cant be the problem. Well here it is, failed valve cover gasket. This new gasket was put on no more than 3 weeks ago. I should have just stuck with the old one.

T may have just not been torques down right. I put a new vc gaskeb on my car and it leaked like crazy still. I just pulled it off and silliconed the crap out of it
