Alrighty, added a poll... BB T25 vs GTIR T28.

How much did you guys think a BB T25 would go for?

When does a GTIR T28 start building boost, when does it finish building boost?

My BB T25 does full boost by 3k rpm, so that's a nice feature

its really not all that noticeable, when i went from t25 to gti-r it felt pretty much the same on lower boost. once you get over 10psi is when i noticed the power holding better and 15 felt just great compared to the t25 at 12.

honestly i think you should hold off and get something a little larger

That makes sense too. So it basically comes down to either staying T25 or go with T2871...

oh come on now, lol the t28 doesnt compare to a gt2871r lol the 2871r can handle up to 450hp a stitch over 400whp, its dual ball bearing, so spool depending on the AR is going to come on soon and hold till redline. basicly the gt2871r is the penical of the t2 series turbos, basicly its big enough to give you a high power output while holding strong from low rpm to redline, while not overly large and ineficent like a 30r where as you see later spool and smaller rev power bands...i could go on. but from my expierence the 2871r is the best bet, it seems to be very efficent on the sr20 engines, esp when you go with cams

But it never really would break loose in 2nd like the t25 would and it didn't "feel" faster. But in real world it was and soon once the motor is back together will be fun still. But i'm going with a smaller turbine to hope for faster spool. Although i like the bigger turbo because it would hit 9psi and stay rock solid. no dipping down after 5800 like the t25 would. I think the turbine AR is now .84 or somewhere like that it's been awhile since i have looked.

I would have to agree with you 110% on this one, When I had my GTIR t28 in it would put me back in the sit and felt like it pulled hard until 5500, once 5500 hit it started dropping off. But the 2871r doesn't feel like it pulls as fast until it hits 12 psi..once that hits, its like a train on crack!!!

I could not agree with you more. The best thing about the 2871r is it takes the fast spool of a turbo like a T25/T28 and mixes it with the power of a T3/T4 turbo. Its perfect!!! U get the perfect powerband for a street car and is just a ton to drive. My advice to you vadim is to just save up for a 2871r, u won't be dissapointed.

agreeed i thinnk those flow a efficent 320hp with a .15% drivetrain loss its not going to be a REALLY impreessive turbo over the t28 while not being a slouch i would put it along side the disco potato as far as flowing.
