From the sounds of it, it seems like T25 would still remain the best for what I'm looking for, 90% speed limit driving and couple hard pulls every now and then.

I'm not gonna worry about it for a while, just gonna get it all tuned out on the highway and see how much that helps.

Learned a lot though, so when the right time comes, I'll know where to search

I predict a T28 is his future if anything at all.

sometimes it's just a matter of being comfortable with what you have... you've made a huge progress from the sludge monster to a DET, keep it like that for a while....

If you do upgrade, just save your pennies and do it right. A disco will own a 2871r, unless you get one of the newer 2871r's that can make a supposed 475hp... The 2871r doesn't seem to like boosting til over 4K, in an area where the disco is already going full blast. Great if you are not revving the snot out of it.

The powerband for the disco makes for a very streetable, and fun car. The 2871r seems out of place, might as well go T3 at that point. But it fills a power gap nicely, and is packaged more easily.

The non BB stuff is cheaper and rebuildable though. Garrett has a BB exchange which allows you to swap out your CHRA for very little cost. I paid $450 for my new CHRA. A good price for what it is, and a disco would be even cheaper.

I'm sold on the disco. I've never felt a powerband so nice from an SR, and that includes my car now. It just hit way harder. My car is very very close in response now though. I'm extremely happy with that!

as far as 2nd gear becoming a problem, alls you need is better tires for traction, or start working on mods that better youj in the traction department, shoot on my 2871r setup i cant do a 4th gear pull and get traction lol

I can't wait till I have the supporting mods with my 2871r to make a 4th gear pull not get traction

I would have to say go with a gtir T28 for 300whp it spools at 2500 and it super fun to drive on the street plus it will be perfect for you supporting mods..just enough power. I own a 2871r now and when I first installed it i must say I waited so long for boost I didn't think it was comeing lol..but once it came it came!. Iv got a gtir T28 for sale vadim, im asking 380 shipped and you won't have to pay extra for paypal fees, I also will be adding delivery confirmation and insurance up to 400 on it as well at no extra charge. Comes with both bolt on inlets on compressor top side and right side along with all lines. pm if your interested its in great shape no shaft play and is really clean.

LOL u guys crack me up man, burn all five gears from a roll huh? When burning said five gears from a roll do you immediately shift gears as soon as the tires start spinning or do you actually ride out the gears and then shift? Unless you riding on donuts or something I just can't see this happening especially on that GT28rs

i donno what type of ems you are running factory or other? but the way to REALLY get better gas mileage is going to eventually come down to the ems you choose to run, either a modded factory ecu where you are able to tune the timing and fuel like realtime, or a other form of management where you can tune in on the fuel maps and timing, becuase that is what is truly going to net you the best mpg.

being able to lean out off boost and idle, and tune in on the full boost air fuel is where you are truly going to see the most mpg potential your setup has.

i really feel upgrading the turbo if not for power is a waste reason being is if you saved your money and went with a better tune or a tuning management system, it is going to be a better in the long run net you more power overall and net you better mpg.

becuase as everyone knows you could have a brand new EVERYTHING and have a bad tune or a tune that isnt most efficent for your setup and your mpg will suck ass, being able to chanel in on specific areas of your air fuels is where you will see the difference.

Coheed, they make more power earlier in the rpm range. And maybe have less traction.
