I wouldn't mind another ball bearing turbo, but if traction becomes an issue in 2nd gear then the turbo becomes kinda useless for me. I love having full traction in second because that's the gear I do most pulls on while on the street just driving.

I have a modified T25 J-Pipe for sale... PM me.

I think I got everything else to hold up to the power, Injectors will be at 4 bar good for 290whp, clutch is good for 300 ft-lbs or around there. MAF is good for 325WHP.

I guess since I have to deal with a harsher 6 puck on daily basis, might as well get more power to make it worth it.

T25 to a GT28RS...what modifications/parts needed to make it fit? - SR20 Forum

T28 seems like the obvious choice. You have to consider you'll get some $$ for your current T25, so you will only pay the difference.

Good thread! When are you gonna start building? . I would happy to get half of T28 price, but who knows maybe people really want BB T25's.

Haha yeah boost bug is addictive! See I can justify paying more money for a more powerful turbo, gas mileage would be a plus, but ultimately would be getting more power to play with

That's not what I'd do if I were keeping it T2 flange and spending that kind of money. I'd probably rock this one, pending fitment questions. Then again, I'd be worried about my stock transmission...

x2 i agree, the spool up on the disco is really nice, but limitied, the 2871r is like the penical of the t2 series as they flow great, high output.

as far as 2nd gear becoming a problem, alls you need is better tires for traction, or start working on mods that better youj in the traction department, shoot on my 2871r setup i cant do a 4th gear pull and get traction lol

Only Vad would upgrade turbos for better gas mileage.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Anyways go disco. If you don't like the disco you can always upgrade again.

I just swapped one out for my t25 and like someone said you have to drill one hole. If you are using stock water and oil lines you will have to bend them to make them fit also. If you are going internal gate you will have to get or fab a bracket for the actuator I think too. I suggest welding the flap shut and welding a flange on your manifold for external gate. I wish I did that.

That's pretty nice, but probably an overkill for what I'm looking for.

Haha

Basically I'm satisfied with the power I'm making now, and or 250whp. It's nice having $60 tires that still hold on to the road.

Only reason I'm even thinking of something else is the whole lack of flow on T25's end. But I might just mod the T25 turbo to death.

You might want to see how Chris does with his GT2560R (factory VET turbo):

VE + GT2560R thoughts - SR20 Forum

He's looking for 250whp and he's using a T25 manifold and 2.5 exhaust. Those are relatively inexpensive too. He's using a VE though.

the gt28rs is a great turbo. I have been running one for a few years now. spool is great but traction is a issue I can burn all five gears from a roll. I have a bigger setup waiting to go including a gt3071r.
