Just have your t25 rebuilt into a t25/28, all your sh*t will bolt on and it will spool just like a t25 but will have close to t28 potential. Even without cams i loved my t25/28 on a stock de with a top mount and 2.5" catless exhaust. I will have to dig up the dyno chart but i mad 255 whp and 277wtq@14 psi on pump gas. This was on a superflow dyno which reads much lower than a dyno jet, i think on a dynojet it was like 280ish whp and 290ish wtq.

By far the most fun set up i have had. I was running the jwt 4bar 370's program. The car also got great gas mileage, i was getting close to 38mpg on the highway. I have had both popular fwd sized gt2871r's and also a regular t25 set up.

I am going to be running a great responding simple set up on my nx. I want to get back to the way the car ran with the t25/28 but have a bit higher power potential. The ihi turbo i am going to be running is similar to the disco potato its a ball bearing ihi vf34.

I also didnt want to spend over a grand for a turbo so i bought the vf34 from a friend for a great price and made it fit. I will let you guys know how it works out as soon as i have the cash to finish it up.

^^^^ that right there sounds like a hellalottafun little setup. More torgue gives you that plant you in your seat feeling. If I didn't completely ruin my T25 i might have rebuilt it to those standards. The 10psi T3/T4 setup i have now, I hope is as much fun as my t25 at 16psi.

insane imports, that does actually sound quiet fun! How much did a hybrid run you up?

EDIT: Forgot to ask, what car did you get 38 mpg on? B13?

Stock usdm motor with a t3/4 .63 ar at 12psi is a fricken blast. 3rd gear is nuts.

It was on my nx. It was on a highport with no emissions equip. i was running a bb top mount i/c with no scoop, t25/28 2.5" catless turbo back exhaust, jwt 4 bar 370 cc ecu, walbro 255, nismo regulator, and dyno tuning with an safc on top of the jwt. I think most companies charge around 300-400 dollars for that type of service. There is a thread stickied on it on one of the forums.

I went with a couple of friends to a nissan meet in IL i had my cruise set the entire way back mostly besides killing a 5.0 fox body at one point his huge tach didnt help him out at all. LOL jason had his 03 spec v with bolt ons and my friend josh had his 93 fully bolted altima se 5spd. The altima was getting 25 or somthing mpg like you would expect from a ka and the spec v only got around 34-35ish. My nx got between 36-38 mpg. We did quite a bit of drivability tuning on the dyno so we had it set at a good leanish factory style cruising rate.

With your power & budget goals, I reckon the GT2560R would be the best way to go. I've just gone from the factory GT2560R to a GTiR T28 on my VET, and while it does pull harder over 6000rpm, there isn't that sharp response when you floor it from cruising rpm (around 3000). You'd probably find the GTiR T28 would be too flat for your liking, before coming in with a whack and breaking traction. The W11's GT2554R still has the T25 inlet side, so it's not worth the money. Hopefully you can pick up an ex-S14a/S15 GT2560R for a sharp price.

EDIT: That dyno chart in chriscar's thread is for my car.

Yeah, i loved the highway with the gt2871r but it just didnt have the overall drivability or should i say boostability like the 25/28. My 2871r did 270 whp with 10psi of boost on my old 10:1 engine and was a blast on the highway, but it always seemed like you had to get to 4k or so before you started having fun. I could have made more power but the 370's were at a pretty high duty cycle, i think if i remember correctly i think i had the cut off line on my duty cycle/pulsewidth monitor set at 90% and it went a decent amount past that at 11psi.

Dont get me wrong i liked keeping up with my friends dyno tuned fully bolted suzuki tl100r bike from a 65mph roll. I just wish i had a 6th gear at that point, i ran out of gearing at 160ish where he pulled on me when i was runing the 2871r. Closed course, experienced drivers. But the quick spooling and large tq make the 25/28 a blast to drive. You can ask a few of my friends who have driven a couple of my turbo set ups and they will say for sure the 25/28 was the most fun. Hell i would toss the keys to any of them and say go beat the hell out of it, it was reliable and fun to drive.

I would agree if you dont do the 25/28 get the ball bearing s14 or s15 turbo. I have heard alot of good things about it.

To get a Hybrid done right make cost 6-700 dollars or more. Just get a GTIR and be done with it. 400 bucks and your good and will make better power than a hybrid.
