Startup idle too high?
Hey I got an Avenir W11 SR20DET, and I just finished the swap. The car wont start without starting fluid, and when it does start it will idle pretty high (3,000 rpms) my AAC valve isnt hooked up, which might cause that problem.

Also, when it is idling at 3,000, I give it gas and it instantly stalls out and shuts off.

Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking it was the TPS when I gave it gas and it stalled out, but I could be wrong.

Also, what color plug is the AAC plug?

It's sounds like it running purely from the starting fluid.
Confirm that you have fuel pressure and that your injectors are actually firing.

I got fuel pressure and the injectors are squirting (rather clean too) I took the fuel rail off and started it with the injectors pointing outwards and the injectors were squirting evenly.

It wont start without starting fluid, but it will stay running even if there is no starting fluid left to burn up. I had it running for about 3 mins early from just a little squirt of starting fluid.

has your aac valve been screwed out?

what ecu are you running.

the rev it up and it shutting off could be a lean or rich condition, i had this happen to me with my car where the tune at a certain point got too lean in one spot and it would do that. rich conditions can also do this too.

the aac valve plugs are born and grey.

also check your throttle plate screw to make sure its in the right position, i had my throttle plate screw nut come loose and it was giving me a high idle and alls it was , was the throttle plate screw

could also be a vacuum leak, or a manifold leak or a sort something like that, that could cause a high idle issue

Please confirm you have the fuel rail hooked up correctly.

If it's hooked up backwards the car will barely start and barely run, but it will run, and will stall out when you try to rev up the motor.

It needs to be from Fuel Filter, to the part of the fuel rail with no FPR, then return line should be hooked up to the FPR.

Fuel rail is hooked up correctly, goes from fuel filter to feed "hole" then return comes out through the FPR

I checked the throttle plate screw, and it seems fine. I still havent hooked up a few vacuum lines, I still gotta go down to NAPA or something and buy a couple feet of vacuum hose

The AAC valve broke when we were putting the motor back in the car, the two metal prongs are still there so I think it might still work (temporarily, with some tape or something to hold the plug in place)

Think I set the idle too high too?

You can't expect the car to run right with a bunch of vacuum lines disconnected.
Your AFR will be all off, and since they're behind your throttle body, it will cause a very high idle since they are bypassing it.

Button up the car then run it, or else risk breaking or damaging something.

x2 fix those lines first to see where ur at

Yeah thats what I was thinking... any reason why it wont start without spraying ether? Could it be because of the vacuum?

Any open vacuum line will allow a lot of unmetered air in. It can cause your exact symptoms, yes.
