Im simply stateing that obviously running the current power on the engine is breaking the transmission. So turn down the boost a bit until he gets a par tranny or a better tranny, or a better platform besides who the hell needs 600whp on the street!

And therealnighthog if a p11 can handle 600-700whp then why does his keep breaking

^It was a 99 which is no better than a 91 SE-R tranny

Not to be a dick but maybe you can figure out a better way to shift that wont kill the trans. After seeing fred casey use a b13 trans for over a 100 runs and not break i would say they can be used effectively. P11 trans will take that abuse, we also havent discussed what your clutch setup is so maybe you can change that and see what happens. I'm not even close to some of these peoples knowledge but im throwing ideas out there

P11/b15 tranny with the twin disc setup would hold your power. My route is the p12/ spec v swap which I am doing. I PM'd you on that btw. I had a b15 tranny but sold it since I figured if I do end up breaking the p12/specV tranny then I know no other tranny will hold. PAR or PPG gear stacks are nice and danndy but with that amount of money I will stick with the 6 speed swap.

This is for reference, if you know how a "regular" b14/b13 gear stack looks like then you know these are surely suitable for the job.

The earlier gearbox opens up under load, the two shafts bend a little and run more on the teeth tips, thats when it breaks. The later box has some idler gear that keeps the main and lay shaft from bowing apart from each other, so they last longer.

This is just not true. I would wager the stout B15/P11 transmissions could handle 700WHP, maybe more with no problem. Torque is the problem, not power. I wasn't suggest he run less power, just make less torque. This is can be done in a few different ways.

Again, I wasn't suggesting he make less max power. Just less area under the curve.

yes torque is what will cause damage...charles when runninng his p11 tranny and never broke the tranny but tore out the splines on his disc... once again a efficient setup would be a p11 non 99/b15 tranny with a twin disc setup...

for those who think they will need more, then I point to the Spec V swap whom Miko started a thread on the other board. It is very invloved but worth it IMO. It would cost around 2200 all said and done. This will vary depending where you get your parts.

i have bought a b15 out of a 01 so that should atleast be the best one that i can get my hands on right ? my clutch setup is a competion plus twin disc setup my car seems to launch and switch to 2nd fine its when i get to go into 3rd so maybe its my driving maybe i shouldnt be slamming it into 3rd ? i just want the car to go as fast as it can i can still get more power out of my setup . is the 6 speed specv tran the very best trans available if thats the best way to go im going to quit wasting my time with the other ones i was trying to get this thing deep in the 9s i know its got the power but these damn trans

3rd is the one that goes and making power is never the problem for these motors its putting it to the ground effectively. the p11/b15 or one of the best and if you get it shot peened and that stuff you should be able to do just fine. I would take it maybe a little easier on 3rd and that will help.

Listen, If you want to quit breakin trannys then build a drag setup automatic. End of story.

Every single manufacture I have ever seen, heard, read about ALL their manual trannys are

weak to a certain HP. Then from there are drag breed autos. Just for insight, take a look at

all top fuel cars they are all automatics. Build a automatic and be done with your story.
