Still having compressor surge issues
Im still having compressor surge issues and am wondering if the problem could be how my bov sits on the pipe going to the intake manifold and is pinching the vac line. Here are some pics I took, please tell me what you think.

I don't see where its pinching? it appears your BOV is recirculated, which is good... what kind of valve is that? it may just need some adjustment.

On a side note, you should probably run a dedicated vac line for your FPR.

It is a stock GTIR valve. I'm not sure that it is pinching but I guess I'm just wanting to know if anyone has any other ideas. I took it to a shop and they hooked it up and found that it opens normally so I don't know why I'm still surging.

Did they say when it opened? Perhaps you have a vacuum/boost leak so it isn't seeing enough vacuum to open properly.

You can also tee into your brake booster line for a much stronger vacuum signal. Just be sure you do so the the passenger side of the check valve (not the part that connects to the booster).

where do you have you vac line hooked up to what part of the throttle or intake manifold
? id say its a vacuum line problem

It is currently hooked up to the brake booster line.

Wait a sec, do you have the small line inside the big line with a clamp? That may be blocking it or causing a leak.

A better way to do that is only use 1" or so of the small hose on the nipple, then run the big hose all the way to the nipple, slide big hose over small hose, then clamp it all together. That way you're clamping the nipple itself, so it can't crush it.

ohhhhhhh! that's what I'm looking at..... yeah do what swiss said. It will just crush closed if there is nothing supporting the small hose inside.

Also, get that breather filter of of there and run a proper catch can.

I am using an adapter to go between the different sizes of hose. This is it....

I might still try the way you suggested swiss. Also, what kind of catch can and where would I find one? Is that causing me any issues right now?

hmmm, the adapter should be fine. Have you pressure tested your system for leaks?

the breather is causing a very minor vac leak through the VC and pcv valve and into the intake manifold. It can cause a bad idle.
