wideband install
Bought a AEM UEGO wideband and I was wondering how for from the exhaust side of the turbo I need to go on my gtir. is it 36 inch? And I leave the stock O2 sensor in correct? Anything else I should know about the install?

Leave stock yes, your ECU can't make any use of the new sensor automatically. AS in you will have to manually tune using the wideband for it to make a difference .

36" is correct, otherwise the gasses are too hot.

They highly suggest you install it on the sides between 10 o-clock and 2 o-clock. The reason for this is, exhausts will always have compensation/water in them while sitting without being ran. If you install the Wideband in any other angle, water can damage the sensor.

When you ground the O2 sensor's gauge ground, make sure to take the extra effort of grounding it on the Intake Manifold. Before I had it spliced into my cigarette lighter, and it gave me bad A/F ratios. When I grounded it to the intake manifold it started working like a charm and was pretty dead on correct.

Keep in mind that the gauge ground, is the same ground that the wideband O2 sensor uses.

I ran mine strait off of my J pipe for over a year and never had an Issue. I didnt even run the Stock O2 sensor. I just tuned the low throttle A/F's whee I wanted them and everything worked great. IM still using that same o2 sensor in my S2000 and it works great.

I bought an apexi safc 2 but i didn't want to start tuning it until I got a wideband so that I didn't set the safc lean and mess up my car...I'll keep in mind the ground issue.. and install on the top side as well thanks for that info...
so johnny did you just replace your o2 with the new one?

I run no o2 just the wideband and everything is all good.I'm sure I lose some gas milage but who cares because when I'm boosting it eats up gas anyway

You dont even loose gas mileage. You actually gain if your good.

Mike- save yourself some money and dont even get a bung welded for the Wideband. Just put it in the Jpipe where the cars o2 sensor goes. Take the old Old o2 sensor and throw it in the garage. Since you have the SAFC2 you can tune your low throttle settings. You want it to sit at about 15.5 cruising and idling. Once you start to floor it a bit more then you want it to slowly creep back to 12.0:1 once your at about over 50% throttle. Seriously, with the SAFC2 you can tune your car enough that you dont even need the stock o2 sensor. I ran around for 3 years like that and pushed my car to the limit with 19psi plenty of times and nothing ever blew.

Just make sure your high throttle position setting is high enough that you dont hit it during regular to kinda quick acceleration (for getting in and out of traffic). As in if you normally hit about 40% throttle while driving regular your gonna want your low throttle settings to be in affect until about 50% throttle. At 51% you want it to go into WOT setting (HI%) since even though your not flooring it youll be seeing more boost then just a few pounds.

If that doesnt make sense or your kinda confused let me know and Ill break it down more. For the B13 ive come to really REALLY like the SAFC on top of the Calum basic. It really makes things simple and once you really figure out how to setup the SAFC your car will run perfect!

K sounds good only issue im haveing is my safc 2 is reading 100% throttle without the car being turned on. And when I run diagnostics it says NG all the way across the board...or dear what is wrong.....

I don't run the narrow band 02. I just run the wideband and hook up my narrow band output to the stock ecu 02 sensor. It's happy and I'm happy Zeitronix ftw.

Sounds like you have the throttle pos sensor wire plug into the wrong wire somehow or something. Theres a Constant volt wire, one that fluctuates with throttle, and a ground wire. Sounds like your on the constant or something. Or your TPS is shot
