Disguising my intercooler
I'm looking for some advice on how to hide my intercooler that will be behind the bumper of my P11. I'm not really into letting everybody know what I got. I have thought about painting it with ceramic paint or have a JET coating put on it, but will that greatly diminish its ability to cool the air? Other idea is to put mesh up in front of it..

Ceramic paint is a no go. A light dusting with regular black spray paint is okay (do the front only, no need to paint anything else). If you want to do even better, get some black radiator paint. I'd do that and skip the mesh.

Look at Bens build in his signature. He's got his intercooler WAY back in there and you can't tell its there. Check out how he did it to get a few ideas.

Definately get some radiator paint or some semi-gloss black and it will blend right in.

Or you could just go with a side mount, those work just as well and they are smaller so it can be hidden better.

I have been thinking about the side mount idea. I already got the IC yesterday. I will probably go ahead and spray a dusting of radiator paint on it.

I want to have a decent mock up before I put the motor in. Now I just need to find an ecu!

Black paint is the way to go. Side mount is not, unless you want to limit yourself to lower boost/power levels.

Almost all of the heat transfer occurs inside the intercooler. I always paint the intercooler at a sharp angle so very little paint gets inside the fins.

I saw your IC and piping in another thread and its probably how I am going to model my setup. I want to keep AC with the turbo.

air to water ic is the ultimate stealth. A lite coat of black paint will work too. I am not painting my new shiney ic don't care if people know its boosted. its not like you can't here the bb turbo or my bov.

You know, I was really considering A-W IC, but was under the impression it was not good for a DD setup?? I wouldn't mind spending more for a A-W setup
