I mean, if those are the only things he changes then it's gotta be that too much oil is going in or not running off quick enough, as you said before.
He doesn't put too much oil in the car, right? Like if the oil level is above the drain plug, there's no place for it to go. Obviously this won't matter when the car is switched to N/A, so it would come back when the car is turbo'd.
Drain some oil and put it to the middle/lower part of the dipstick.
Hell, he's got like 6 lifts over there. Take the drain plug off COMPLETELY and go up in the air with a rev the car and let it run for 10-15 minutes and see if it smokes.
