The only items that change between the turbo and non-turbo setup are: exhaust manifold, downpipe, and turbo. Obviously, he has to run the coolant lines and oil feed/return lines, as well.

Has he checked to make sure there isn't a puddle of oil burning out of the exhaust from before? Can he pull the downpipe and see if there is any oily residue in the j-pipe, providing it was cleaned before?

I asked him to check. Funny thing about it: When he went back N/A he had absolutely no smoke. The J-Pipe was clean, and so was the downpipe (according to him). I'm sure when he pulls it again he'll check for residue, but I don't think any will exist.

When he first starts the car in the morning, it doesn't start smoking right away. Not for a good 10 minutes anyway. I asked him to stay completely out of boost as he drove it around for a little bit and see if it would start to smoke.

I mean, if those are the only things he changes then it's gotta be that too much oil is going in or not running off quick enough, as you said before.

He doesn't put too much oil in the car, right? Like if the oil level is above the drain plug, there's no place for it to go. Obviously this won't matter when the car is switched to N/A, so it would come back when the car is turbo'd.

Drain some oil and put it to the middle/lower part of the dipstick.

Hell, he's got like 6 lifts over there. Take the drain plug off COMPLETELY and go up in the air with a rev the car and let it run for 10-15 minutes and see if it smokes.

Update -

As I suspected. Jen ran the test I had asked him to (disconnect the oil return and plug the port in the block, then start the car for a few seconds). Oil came gushing out as if he had just opened the oil drain. WAY too much oil being fed into the turbo. I'm getting the parts list together for him now.

Hopefully that's the last of the smoke issue. You mind posting up that list once you're done? I'm still confused when it comes to the oil/coolant lines and returns and all that...

**** wait a minute here...

Before I go in depth with giving you all kinds of part numbers...

Jen, does the banjo bolt that you used for the turbo oil feed have the restrictor built in? If NOT, then just buy that banjo bolt from GregV, with a couple of crush washers...

IIRC it's for the Z32 TT. Comes with built in restrictor.

Is that the restrictor you were looking for tek?

I'm not trying to answer for the man, but I dont think he even knows if he has one or not. May wanna talk to him personally about it.

Yeah, I called him already, after I ordered two to be drop shipped to him from GregV.

From what he's saying, he's got a banjo bolt that you could stick the ink shaft from a ballpoint pen into. I don't think that's the correct banjo bolt, so when he receives it he can compare to the one he has.

He's not answering his phone, so I'll post it here. Jen, there is an extra set of banjos in the 'miscellaneous junk' box I gave you with the motor. They should have the right restrictor.
