Don't give away all my secrets!

He'll get ash soon enough. First things first, I gotta rebuild that turbo. Already ordered the kit. Will be doing a write up soon for everyone else that wants to rebuild their turbo on the cheap. (no-rebalancing needed!)

Jen,

You don't need to run premium. Your car is running just like any other run of the mill N/A car right now, but you actually have more cushion because you're running 8.5:1 vs. 9.5:1. 87 Octane is absolutely fine for you.

Long story short, I am a smoker, and purposely ash into the motor before I put the head on. Superstition.

i kinda thought you were going in that direction!...i do too..but just cuz im an asshole and think its funny when half a cigarette in ash drops into a 305

His situations arent even half as bad as i have run into with my turbo nx. I went through 2 engines because of a faulty fuel injector. Thats why i will never put a used set of fuel injectors into any of my cars without sending them to rc first. I had a wideband but 3 of the 4 cyl were rich one was very lean and melted a piston, but on the wideband it still showed rich, the other engine had a bad injector seal in the side feeds which liked to dump all the fuel from the rail into the bottom end when you shut the car off. That engine was brand new and spun every bearing in the bottom end due to having more gas than oil in the oil pan. I still have some of the old main bearings laying around and they still smell terribly like gas and that was years ago.

So jen i would say your problems could be worse. LOL
Not to scare anyone else away but, pretty much anyone and everyone will have some type of problem turboing their car or even doing an engine swap.

I'd get a new motor, I don't care if that **** is running fine now or not.

Jensen, if everyone else saw what I saw when I help do the head gasket, i bet more than half will say the same. That thing was detonating, there were burn marks on all the combustion chambers, all 4 piston has burn marks on the exhaust side.

His piston looked like this on one side only(sorry, i didn't take pic of the actual damage)



I know we put a good head back in, but I wouldn't boost the block anymore. the only reason why I help put it back in is because you needed a car to drive. I think I recall myself saying a couple of times that I'd replace the block.

its ok if it blows it blows i just aint ment to be turbo then lol. i will be rebuilding a solid block in the near future. when tekkie gets here its going to be all hell'


by the way i blew 2 HG on 2 diffrent motors. broke a new nismo AFPR 2 turbos went bad on me in the first 2 weeks on installment got a hole on the intercooler and went throung 2 belts because for some reason the stupid alty adjustment braket kept comming loose both lower and upper radiator hoses broke because of over heating issues due to the HG.. trust me i have had my issues

who thinks Jen should run 10:1 + boost? i gave him a low port UK motor(missing some rockers and shims) i told him to swap the head and boost that sucker. what do you guys think? i know he will be more than happy with 300ish HP so I don't think the 10:1 piston will do bad.

UK motors are low port? that's news to me...

yeah he should be all right, even with the 10:1. just make sure he gets a proper tune.

No for 10:1 CR boosted. Jen's going to have a nice motor by the time I finish it.
