Get a de slap that turbo on the de and just do that. That will be the easiest and you already have everything for turbo so you don't have to worry about buying stuff.

Nah, it's a little more complicated than that. Pulling the T28 off and going N/A on the DET for now. Going to be slower than balls, but should be more reliable as far as driving daily.

When I get there I'll be tearing down the motor with him to work it back to 110%, though not as in depth as we did yours

Going back to n/a? You will be bored and come back to the dark side LOL.

I wouldnt do it you have everything you need, just figure out whats wrong fix it the right way and your set. It sounds like you have enough knowledgable people backing you up, you guys should be able to get it sorted out.

no doubt im comming back. im running the 8.5 motor right now just caped everything off and it runs hehe.. no smoking at all and im happy as hell. now i know the turbo was going out on me. i still have to replace the dizzy cause it was throwing a code for it. and if that does not fix the hesitation that i still have even when NA then i know for a fact my mechanical timing is off....either way its way way slower but im happy that i cab sit at a light and not have a bunch of f ucking smoke all over the place hehe

do you have an oil restrictor on the pressure side of the turbo?

is your CHRA clocked the right direction to properly drain? is the drain clear?

Jen's going to send the turbo to me to check it out. I'm going to buy a seal kit for it and clean it up.

He's been using the stock feed/return lines off of a GTiR setup, just so everyone knows. Turbo has not been re-clocked since pulled from the GTiR, so the return is in the correct position. Pretty sure it's a seal problem that's been plaguing him. Also mentioned to him that he REALLY needs to pull the timing cover and verify mechanical timing. I have a VERY strong feeling that his mechanical timing is off 1/2 link on the crank, which is causing the motor to fall on it's face above 5Krpm, as well as his dizzy being clocked all the way to the radiator. If he has the dizzy straight up, ign. timing is at 4 degrees.
