I love to see these big WHP motors but I just feel that if you are going for large number with boost VE-T is the only way to go.
Makes more WHP with less boost
Makes more torque with less boost
Has wider power band
Revs to 9000-10000 RPMS with a Springs and retainers.
I respect your opinion... But my experiences haven't been the same. I just went back to RR head from VE... Same bottom end same turbo setup and I picked up power up top. I lost a decent amount of midrange, but I think that is also partial due to the drop in compression and partially the cams.
I went all the way to N1 manifold and ported head to try and get what I thought should have been there.
I have done multiple setups on both heads back to back and the RR was always better in my experience. With all the HYPE I read on the VE-T setups I was very disappointed the only thing the VE-T ever had was more midrange (3-5k rpm) power.
I will say for a great street setup run a VE with 3071 or 3076.
