Actually, I don't get wheelspin in first because the turbo doesn't really have a chance to spool. There's not enough exhaust pressure to really spin it, like there is with smaller turbine housings. 2nd gear is useless though, and so is 3rd.

I do need to feather the throttle a decent amount. But its still fun

My comments weren't really targeted at you, just general. I am confident you will get it dialed in with time. IMO dialing in the chassis is something that most everybody here overlooks. They throw slicks on the track then claim they have a good setup.

I love to see these big WHP motors but I just feel that if you are going for large number with boost VE-T is the only way to go.

Makes more WHP with less boost
Makes more torque with less boost
Has wider power band
Revs to 9000-10000 RPMS with a Springs and retainers.

I respect your opinion... But my experiences haven't been the same. I just went back to RR head from VE... Same bottom end same turbo setup and I picked up power up top. I lost a decent amount of midrange, but I think that is also partial due to the drop in compression and partially the cams.

I went all the way to N1 manifold and ported head to try and get what I thought should have been there.

I have done multiple setups on both heads back to back and the RR was always better in my experience. With all the HYPE I read on the VE-T setups I was very disappointed the only thing the VE-T ever had was more midrange (3-5k rpm) power.

I will say for a great street setup run a VE with 3071 or 3076.

what cams were you running on the ve? I am assuming normal 20ve cams, and if so what do you expect? Of course you will pick up power with a largish de cam

N1 cams were run in his wnwright's car, IIRC.
