awesome. i love seeing DET's make big power. everyone i know locally thinks it's a waste of time to build anything other than a GTI-R

top-of-the-line build guys! can't wait to see a 600+ WHP DET powered NX!

are we going to see any drag strip numbers out of this car?

I went all the way to N1 manifold and ported head to try and get what I thought should have been there.

I have done multiple setups on both heads back to back and the RR was always better in my experience. With all the HYPE I read on the VE-T setups I was very disappointed the only thing the VE-T ever had was more midrange (3-5k rpm) power.

I will say for a great street setup run a VE with 3071 or 3076.

sorry for the of topic but what was your turbo setup??gti-r manifold?
thanks.

SC-61 seems really laggy. What are the exact specs of your SC-61?

Rob the lag on that car its caused by the BC Stage3 cams on you VE setup you should reach full boost by 4800rpm's easy...
Thats why I am not using the BC Stage 3 cams anymore I switched to Tomei and the difference its Day and Night ....
Dont get me wrong the cams are not bad but they need to play with cam gears to fix that problem...

Very well gone. i am loving the numbers. Are you using a EMs or calum RT for tuning?

We are using an AEM EMS.... yeah its a bit laggy, which can be attributed to the BC stg3 cams. The car still needs some tweaking, and we might look into getting the cam gears to try and dial them in more. Its still a 61 so Im always going to have to deal with lag as with any larger turbo set-up, but yes there are some options we still need to look at.

who cares about lag when your making 600hp, cuz usually all the lag is accounted for is lower rpm's but with the larger turbos your powerband will just shift upwards but in the longrun your powerband will still be about the same amount of rpms but for straight line use a taller powerband is better anyways.

I'm subscribing especially to see what kind of numbers you can pull out by tweaking those Stage 3's. I haven't really considered slapping gears on mine yet, but once I get the CS camgears I won from the convention, I may do just that.

the people that bitch about lag is the same person that bitch about no traction cause there turbo spools to fast! lol

back on topic, nice numbers!

ok well if he was running n1 cams i assume he was running a big turbo and good manifold too. If not these cams will be useless as the overlap will make it very hard to pressurize the cylinder. Will be interesting even on jp's set up to see if n1's make power. Even with his turbo he still might need revs to make power, and i wouldn't be totally surprised if 20v cams out perform the n1's, but hopefully we will see soon.

anyway i should probably stop hijacking the thread. My apologies to sniper571
