lol you're right, it never hurts to try...

I want to see what the turbo does or can do.

I understand when people say "you get what you pay for", but that statement is very vague, because I buy a used turbo that turns out to be crap, same thing

I just want to try it out, my reasoning makes sense

Then try it out, and you can hang it on your wall in a year's time as a failed attempt along with other people's eBay manifolds and whatnot.

There's a 99.9% probability that if you buy a turbo from this forum, you're not getting something that's garbage, because most people that have been here and on the other forum aren't out to rip others off.

I'm not saying I or someone else is going to get ripped off, I'm just saying you never know and it's a thought.

It's something that I will try, I feel the need to try it, and I won't be satisfied until I do. If it works, then fine, if not, than ok...it might be a failed attempt and it might be successful.
thankyou for everyone's input

Jensen, I'll call you later when I wake up, just got in from work

Have fun if the compressor wheel decides to come apart and pieces go flying around in your engine and blow it to shreds

I would rather buy a nice used turbo off the forum than a cheap copy from ebay. You can pick up a nice garret bb turbo on this forum for around $850.

Their newest point of failure is bearings due to oil feed hole problems.

thanks, I will take that into consideration. I am trying this on an old motor, not something I plan on using forever. If it blows, I have a back up

understandable, which I plan on doing.,,
This is more like an "experiment"...I own a t25 and a t28, so I have turbos.

just post the link of the ebay seller and see what the forum has to say about it. not everything you get from ebay is cheap. we get our ssac headers from ebay for like 90 dollers now and nobody has really had a issue with them. hell i have 2 of them and it has never cracked on me or did anything wierd. only issue was the cheap gasket you got but that has nuthing to do with the actuall product. hell if the turbo does break at least the intercooler will catch most if not all the pieces lol... and you get a replacement if it does break. if that turbo last more then a year then hell your golden

You sure are helping someone to be steered in the wrong path, considering you bought an OEM T28

i bought a oem turbo because it was there for me to get lol. im not saying hey go buy it im just saying that ebay does not always sell crap. Sometimes you can find that magic gem of a product that will work and maybe if it does work people will start buying them from that certain person on ebay....
